Shaped like an aged-gold crescent moon dusted with snow, this two-sided acrylic Christmas ornament holds a Black Labrador Retriever in a red Santa hat. It is the way a Lab owner pictures him at night: the steady one, keeping watch from the sky.
Black Lab owners who have shared a dozen Christmases with the same gray-muzzled dog will know that pose, chin up and waiting. Some hang it on their own tree; others buy it as a gift for a dog lover friend who just said goodbye to a Lab and needs his place kept on the branches.
